Gomasio (from Japanese goma = sesame, shio = salt) is a condiment obtained from roasted and pounded sesame seeds, mixed with a small percentage of salt. an ideal condiment to season and salt your recipes in an original way. Gomasio has been used in Japan for thousands of years.
Our gomasio is made with toasted sesame seeds and Swiss “Fleur des Alpes” salt. It is the result of a careful process that preserves the flavors and nutrients of the raw materials. This precious seasoning, which comes in the form of a fine powder, is a healthy and tasty way to reduce your consumption of pure sodium. In oriental cooking Gomasio is used for seasoning salads, sauces, bread, meat, rice, vegetables and in general all those foods which are to be seasoned in a tasty and delicate way.
It is the ideal condiment to combine with cereals, because it enhances their taste giving them a particular flavor. It should be used raw, sprinkled on freshly cooked foods, in order not to lose all its nutritional properties.
