The extraction of natural sea salt on the island of Ibiza dates back more than 2700 years ago. This sea salt, collected in the nature reserve of the ancient Phoenician salt pans, continues to be one of the purest gifts of Mother Nature. The symbiosis of traditional craftsmanship, abundant sunshine and light winds gives us this all-natural sea salt – still full of ocean zest.
Left untreated, it retains over 80 essential minerals and trace elements, such as magnesium, fluorine, selenium and iodine. Fleur de sel is considered a sea salt of the highest quality. It is bright white, sometimes with a pink shimmer. Being “fresh” and hand-picked salt, it is always slightly moist and keeps best if stored in the same conditions. Its taste is very subtle but aromatic.
We advise you to use this Fleur de Sel d’Ibiza especially at the end of your preparation – not in the kitchen – to allow our palate to fully perceive the characteristics of Fior di mare
