Sossusvlei is a salt (salar) and clay desert in the Namib Desert, the oldest desert on the planet. This salt is produced by the pure currents of l’eau Antarctica and the African sun – African snowflake salt, as it is nicknamed in Namibia, is the noblest variant of sea salt. It is harvested only a few days of the year when it is full sun, little humidity and a light wind. It is laid as a thin layer of snowflakes on the plateau. Drying takes place under the desert sun. In this way, the salt retains all the minerals and trace elements that make it precious and give it a particular flavor. You will discover the taste of Antarctic freshness and the African sun at the same time.These layers are brought to the edge of the salt flats by the wind, where they are harvested by hand.
This fleur de sel, much appreciated by cooks and gourmets, has a very fine note of salt and is particularly suitable as table salt.
