Sea salt extraction has a long tradition in Tasmania. Already 30 years after the British colonization of Tasmania, in 1803, they began to extract sea salt in the western part of the island. Despite the highly innovative technology of the time, the saline solution was not commercially successful and was closed only a few years after it was put into operation.

Only in 2013 was sea salt recovered in Tasmania. A few kilometers from the ruins of the ancient salt pans, the seawater flakes have begun to be extracted with efficient and ecological methods. The Tasman Sea is one of the cleanest and most mineral-rich waters on our planet, so Tasmanian salt flakes have a unique and sweet flavor.

To be used as a flower of salt, crumbled in finish. A real delight to accompany meats and grilled meats of all kinds (vegetables, shellfish).
